In July 2024, Green Drinks held its regular free-of-charge meetup, where sustainable practitioners in Jakarta gathered to discuss the future of sustainability, especially in Indonesia. The event took place at Lothal Business Centre, Indian Embassy at GAMA Tower.

On this occasion, Simon Bernard shared Sea Oddesey’s mission to clean the ocean and stop the flow of plastic waste from polluting it—meanwhile, Adv. Afroz Shah inspired the audience with his effort to clean the heavily polluted beaches and rivers in Mumbai, India.

Both have voiced an important message we could not ignore; that the government, the people, and the manufacturers need to step up to find a sustainable solution together regarding plastic waste.

While you have finished reading this whole article, more than 40 tons of plastic waste has entered the ocean. Despite the staggering number, there is still hope for all of us if we work together against plastic pollution!

The event concluded with a networking session while having a delicious snack provided by @akshar.jkt. For those who missed the meetup, stay tuned for the next Green Drinks session with another inspiring topic!
