Reynold Adinegara: Ceramics of Expression

Initiating from his desire to get out of the tiring routine of working in an office at his production house business, Reynold Adinegara (@adinegara.r) took a big risk by changing gears to become a full-time ceramicist. His hands, which were used to holding the camera and keyboard, felt tired and wanted to do something different. That’s why, when his wife asked him to accompany her to a clay-making workshop, he agreed.

Graduating from DKV made Reynold Adinegara feel destined to immediately enter the world of photography and videography. However, he felt bored with all his busy schedules, so he felt he needed to do something drastic to reset himself. After taking part in the workshop, he was immediately attracted to clay-making. Every night when he came home from work, he sought entertainment by making clay crafts. Long story short, after years of operation, he decided to sell his production house. He wanted to focus on pursuing a career as a full-time ceramicist, which he has been pursuing for 5 years now. Initially, he did not have a clear business plan. He just immediately plunged into creating works while learning. You could say that he was going through the process as he went along, learning by experience. And now, he has moved to Bali for 5 months, where he lives and makes ceramic works from his studio.

Until now, Reynold Adinegara Ceramics has won a place in the hearts of its loyal customers, the majority of whom consist of architects and interior designers. A handiwork that is not only functional but also has aesthetic value that is beautiful to the eye, and has personal value in it. His works consist of tableware and planters. For tableware, there are plates, bowls, and glasses. Meanwhile, for planters, there are pots and vases.
