Born from the vision of Goenawan Mohamad, Salihara Arts Center is a space which embraces freedom of thought and expression, celebrating everyone’s diversity and individuality. These values permeate both their performances and educational programs, ensuring a blend of new and innovative art forms that captivate the eye and the mind.

Notably, they host two major biennial festivals: SIPFEST and LIFES. Featuring globally acclaimed artists, SIPFEST is a performing-arts festival that showcases their best presentations. Moreover, this festival includes other programs such as a fine arts exhibition. They also host LIFES, an international literature festival which fosters interaction between Indonesian and international writers. Centered around pertinent themes, it allows a chance to broaden your perspective and develop intellectual knowledge regarding various discourses.

Other performing arts include the Helateater, which brings international performance groups to the stage. Furthermore, they have the Helatari program, which highlights new works from local choreographers and dancers. Should you wish to enjoy innovative and explorative new music, the Salihara Jazz Buzz would be the perfect event. This concert features unique collaborations between musicians with diverse instrumental and stylistic backgrounds.

Meanwhile, Salihara’s educational programs are nothing short of interesting as well.
