Ensuring a blend of novelty, originality and creativity, Salihara\u2019s activities are perfectly arranged for anyone who wishes to explore new perspectives. Experience their international festivals, art exhibitions, and more as they instill new ideas within you.<\/p>\n<p>Born from the vision of Goenawan Mohamad, Salihara Arts Center is a space which embraces freedom of thought and expression, celebrating everyone\u2019s diversity and individuality. These values permeate both their performances and educational programs, ensuring a blend of new and innovative art forms that captivate the eye and the mind.<\/p>\n<p>Notably, they host two major biennial festivals: SIPFEST and LIFES. Featuring globally acclaimed artists, SIPFEST is a performing-arts festival that showcases their best presentations. Moreover, this festival includes other programs such as a fine arts exhibition. They also host LIFES, an international literature festival which fosters interaction between Indonesian and international writers. Centered around pertinent themes, it allows a chance to broaden your perspective and develop intellectual knowledge regarding various discourses.<\/p>\n<p>Other performing arts include the Helateater, which brings international performance groups to the stage. Furthermore, they have the Helatari program, which highlights new works from local choreographers and dancers. Should you wish to enjoy innovative and explorative new music, the Salihara Jazz Buzz would be the perfect event. This concert features unique collaborations between musicians with diverse instrumental and stylistic backgrounds.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Salihara\u2019s educational programs are nothing short of interesting as well. Including art classes and workshops in dancing, acting, and more, it is led by expert instructors which can guide you professionally. It also features discussions and talk shows on art, history, and other subjects, providing a platform for diverse perspectives and lively conversations. Besides that, Salihara Art Center also holds contemporary art exhibitions.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, an upcoming event at Salihara Arts Center is HUTAN, a performative sound installation show. Allowed for people aged 8 and above, it is scheduled for June 22-23, 2024.
